‘Kosmos’ was an Augmented Reality filter created for Messenger as part of the Facebook Artist in Residence Program.
The illustration animation features an immersive surreal world which places the user at the center. The environment becomes discoverable at the discretion of the user and responds to spatial exploration. The effect also featured as a ‘Filter’ which Messenger users could activate during video calls.
